Start Racing course is for graduates of the Better Sailing course.
Or amateur racing sailors who would like to get back to the basics.

Sessions are all on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm commencing 10th October 2026.  We have scheduled 8 sessions but only require 6 sessions to cover the criteria for this course.  Missing a couple of sessions is easily made up so registrations will be accepted up till 15th October or the course is full, whichever comes first.

The club provides all the boats and safety equipment and experienced Qualified Instructors and Assistants.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to learn the basics of racing and begin competing at club-level races. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Racing (Dinghy) completion certificate. 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
