Mordialloc Sailing Club was officially established in its present location in the late 1950s and it has connections with sailing at Mordialloc since the 1890s. Originally located on the island as part of the Mordialloc Motor Yacht Club, it broke away to form its own club in 1946. It has a history that includes 12 square metre Sharpie sailing and Olympic representation. The honour boards displayed within the clubrooms attest to the rich history of sailing at Mordialloc.
Today the club is family orientated with a commitment to advancing and promoting off the beach sailing. Among the classes actively sailed at Mordialloc are Sharpies, Sabres, Lasers, Open Skiffs and Pacers.
Sailing activities are supported by a fleet of modern race management and rescue craft that includes two 18' SwiftCraft Dominators powered by 135 HP Mercury motors, 3 hard bottom rescue ducks and a Bertram 25 Flybridge Cruiser as start boat. All craft are manned by accredited operators including International, National and State Race Officers.
The Sailing Committee at Mordialloc is committed to the providing members and visitors with an unrivalled venue and top quality race management. They are focused on providing competitive and professionally conducted events that will provide all sailors with a safe, fair and challenging environment to sail in.
