Mordialloc Sailing Club Venue Hire

Location:

Foreshore North Aspendale - Melway's map 92 E2. Entry is via the lane at 12A Bowman Street

Insurance:

The hiree must have or obtain liability insurance of $20 million for the single event. One such insurer is  https://www.localcommunityinsurance.com.au/

Cleaning

The club must be left in a tidy condition and all decorations, tape, blue tack, etc removed. The cost of a standard clean is included in the hire. If additional cleaning or professional cleaning of the carpet is required as a result of the function, the Hirer must meet the cost.

Bond

The hirer is responsible for costs associated with any damage/breakages in and around the club. The liability is not limited to the amount of bond provided. Breakages of glasses will be charged at $3.00 each. The bond will be refunded in full within 14 days if an inspection reveals no abnormalities.

Staff

The club can provide 2-3 staff, depending on the numbers attending. They will work in the bar and lock up the premises.

Approval:

MSC Executive Committee approval is required for all hirings. After consideration, the Clubs decision including any conditions will be provided in writing. The clubs Executive cannot consider a request unless full details of the function and your particular requirements have been obtained.

The function is to be 'registered' by the Hirer with the Mordialloc Police Station. Note: Bookings will not be accepted for 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st birthdays functions.

Liquor

A detailed discussion will be required to determine estimated quantities and types as well as the basis of payment - e.g. beer, wine and soft drinks by hirer and spirits by guests

As our premises are licensed, BYO by you or your guests is not permitted. Liquor must NOT be taken outside the clubrooms, as our licence does not extend beyond the building.

Food

The Hirer is welcome to self cater or select their own caterer. In either case, the Hirer is responsible for all aspects of the food provided to guests as well as clean up.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any part of the clubrooms.

Noise

Bands and DJs are permitted but the Hirer must ensure that the music and guest noise does not disturb the neighbourhood and comply with local and state regulations.

Behaviour/Compliance

The behaviour of all present must be to the satisfaction of the Club's representatives and they must comply with requests made by those representatives. The Club's requests may well be as a result of having to comply with its Liquor Licence. We will liaise with the Hirer as appropriate.

Set Up Of Club

A two-hour period will be available on the day of the function to enable the Hirer to set up the premises. The time is to be arranged on a mutually convenient basis. Decorations are permitted, however, they may only be fixed using tape or blue tack and only to varnished surfaces (not painted surfaces).

Function End and Lock Up

The function and music are to end by 12.30am. Lock up time is 30 minutes after the end of the function. Penalties Apply.

As taxis are reluctant to attend the foreshore guests should arrange to meet them in front of Doyle's Bridge Hotel.

Hire Costs

Non Members $POA $500

Hiring cost, bond, and the estimated cost of drinks are to be paid 14 days prior to the function. Dates are not "reserved" until a deposit of $200 has been paid. The costs quoted are for a 5-hour function.

Cancellation Policy

> 3 weeks from the function - deposit refunded in full

Less than 3 weeks from the function - deposit forfeited in full

Less than 1 week from the function - 50% of the hiring fee is payable.
