Facilities and Local Services

Mordialloc Sailing Club has a complete range of facilities that are unrivalled by other clubs around the bay. The club offers a comprehensive range of well maintained and easily accessible amenities. The ground level entry provides easy access for the disabled.

Access and Car Parking
The club has a members private entrance that ensures easy access to a parking and rigging area free of other traffic. Car parking facilities for 100 - 120 cars and trailers are available at the club. The club area is secured in the sense that the lane is privately owned club and is the primary access to the locale. No parking fees are applicable. Overflow parking requirements are met by adequate public parking within walking distance of the club.

Club Rooms
The club has two large areas for entertaining. One, the lower deck wet area allows sailors to enter the club and obtain both food and drink before changing. The other area, the upper deck, is carpeted. Both areas have ample tables and chairs that provide seating for in excess of 120 people. This area also provides excellent viewing of the racing with its large windows and access to an expansive external sundeck. The club rooms are centrally heated in winter and cooled by ceiling fans in summer.

The club has a good kitchen and modern bar facilities with a restricted club licence. Social functions can adequately cater for in excess of 120 people. The club canteen provides sailors with an extensive selection of take away foods at very reasonable prices.

Meeting and protest facilities are catered for in the Committee Room/Regatta Office.

Boat Rigging and Launching
The club has the benefit of large rigging areas. Sailors may choose to rig their boats on expansive grassed areas or on the beach itself. Access to the beach is via a double width concrete ramp. The club has a crane for the launching of trailable yachts and race management craft into Mordialloc Creek.

Boat Storage
During titles and regattas, boats are usually stored in front of the club rooms and/or in the storage compound. While flood lights will be left on at night, the use of boat covers is recommended. Storage compound facilities are limited and are restricted to visiting rescue craft and rubber ducks.

Members can apply for storage facilities for their boats in the locked compound within the club grounds. Applicable fees depend on the type of yacht and the storage position.
