St Ayles Skiff walking event

Mordy Skiff news 9/9/2020

For those interested in St Ayles Skiff, Aus 23, MSC.

The ‘Castle to Crane Clydebuilt 2020’

Mordy Skiff has 20 walkers already signed on for this international event.

This year the the 13 mile race on Glasgow’s Clyde River, is to be held on Saturday 19th Sept. GMT.

Locals & International crews can participate between 1200hrs Fri – 1200hrs GMT Sunday, to enable compliance with covid restrictions, plus enabling multiple crew entries of local skiffs, actually being rowed on home waters. We have entered the Alternate Challenge, under rules 23 & 24.

Please contact me if you wish to join the walk. Due to covid restrictions, some of our walkers may need a longer time to accumulate their 8kms, so in the spirit of the alternate challenge, we suggest to complete your walk in the week leading up to 6pm on Sunday 20 th September. The alternate challenge is not a timed event.

There is no entry fee, no fundraising just a bit of FUN. Crews of 5 walkers will be allocated skiffs named after local beaches around Port Phillip, enabling scope for additional skiffing crews to enter the mood of the event.

Walkers do not have to be members of Mordialloc SC. as this is not a club sanctioned event.

You are basically exercising within your own time entitlement. You are reminded to respect all local covid guidelines. Do hope this has helped clarified your walk participation.

Keep well & I will keep you updated on the walk.
