Safety – Child Safe

Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

As part of our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people we recognise the importance of, and a responsibility for, ensuring MSC is a safe, supportive and enriching environment which respects and fosters the dignity and self-esteem of children and young people, and enables them to thrive in learning and development of their sailing skills.

We promote the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and the safety of children with a disability.

Mordialloc Sailing Committees and volunteers are committed to protecting children and young people from abuse or harm within the sailing environment, in accordance with their legal obligations including child safe standards.

The following documents are the latest version of these with most being reviewed annually.
Feedback from members on any observed possible unsafe scenario should always be given to the clubs Rear Commodore or Sail Training Coordinator or if not available then a member of the Executive Committee so that it can be investigated and prompt action taken as per the relevant policy or process below.
